A shower for Mercy...

Some very precious friends gave us a baby shower last week for our Mercy. It was such a wonderful time, i wanted to share some of the highlights in pictures.

There were 3 parts of the shower. They wanted to bless Sean and I, bless our boys, and bless Mercy. They blessed us by allowing us to share our hearts for a little while. We were able to share what has been happening with Mercy and ask for some very specific prayers. They prayed for us and for our family and bore our burdens so well. It was precious (my favorite part of the shower!!). Then we sang two songs that Sean and I picked out- songs that have been strengthening to us as we have gone through this adoption.

Next they blessed our boys by giving them a very special present...
This is "The Greatest Big Brother" jar, given by the Breeds. They told our boys that in order to be "great" as big brothers they should be like Jesus- a servant. This jar is full of ideas of how to serve when baby sissy arrives.

Lastly, they blessed Mercy with gifts. We got so many things we needed. Girl stuff is just so CUTE! I love it!!

The Africa cake, with a heart over Ethiopia!!

Our first experience with Ethiopian food...(no comment) (ha)

The shower was wonderful thanks to the Capps and the Breeds! We are leaving to go get our baby girl on June 7! I cannot believe i am just a little under 2 weeks away from touching her. I honestly cannot imagine what that first moment will be like. I think we both will cry!!!

and i cannot end a post without a new picture of our Queen of Sheba! This picture was sent to us by the Coen's. They took this picture when they were in Addis. This is the only picture we have of her somewhat smiling. (We all think she looks like Jadon...weird!)

She DOES look like Jadon!!! That's crazy. I'm glad it was a good shower. I wish I could have been there. Noel actually has served that kind of bread before (she likes it).

The food is definitely going to be a challenge. I will try to call soon.

Oh Cordells ~ What a preciouse gift given by friends! Prayer is so much better when the burden is shared among many. Love that they included your boys and encouraged them to "be like Jesus"! Sounds like you have some wonderful friends! Praying your travel is smooth and you will be holding her soon!
Blessings, Jori

Dana,
I also have pictures of your daughter, if you are interested :) Send me an email with your addy or leave a comment on my blog. I sent out videos to the AW folks who let me know they wanted them, but I didn't hear from you. You are leaving SO SOON, but saw this update and thought I'd ask. Btw, your daughter is absolutely gorgeous! Praying for all of you that are travelling soon, apryl
